GC Assist

A VITAL LINK IN THE MISSION CHAIN

Our mission is to promote effective cross-cultural mission in partnership with Christian Brethren Churches in New Zealand and around the world.

For more than 100 years, we have assisted mission partners and home churches to extend God's kingdom by providing mission agency services, mostly through volunteer resources.

Our strategy today is to actively create greater awareness of mission among the churches we represent. This requires resources.

GCiM's operating costs - traditionally - have been funded by the 5% contribution donors add to gifts when using our services to forward funds to mission partners.

Now, the cost of running the Global Connections office and new initiatives is greater than the 5% contribution asked for. Unwilling to further increase the contribution we're exploring other options.

AN OPTION FOR REINFORCING THE LINK

A separate trust charged with the purpose of financially assisting Global Connections in Mission, GC Assist is registered with Inland Revenue to give receipts qualifying tax rebates.

This means:
You can obtain a tax break when helping us to develop our vital ministry.

  • Individuals who donate to GC Assist to fund office operations can use their receipt to obtain a refund of 33% of the amount (within the limit as set from time to time by the IRD)
  • Family Trusts able to distribute to charities can now donate to GC Assist and reduce tax on trustees' income.
  • However, individuals who donate money to Global Connections in Mission for distribution to individuals and ministries remain ineligible for this rebate
