Do you know someone whoナ
- Is leaving school next year & isn’t sure what to do?
- Is passionate about God and mission?
- Or, is 21+ and would benefit from Biblical training as an Intern?
HEADSPACE could be just what they are looking forナ
|
Many young people today are leaving school with little idea about what they want to do. Some have a sense of the direction in which they want to go but would really benefit from a transition year that will grow and further prepare them for the next steps. HEADSPACE provides excitement, adventure and challenge, yet ensures that support and security structures are in place. The ‘outside your comfort zone’ environment fuels a strong personal faith, and the teaching programme and community living help develop a Biblical worldview and missional heart. The HEADSPACE GAP year lays a firm Biblical foundation for a future centered on God.
- A full year programme made up of five Blocks
- Three teaching Blocks beginning, middle and end
- Biblical Foundations
- Cross Cultural Training
- Life Development Planning
- 14 weeks of work placements as a team in apple and kiwifruit pack houses. Money earned is used to pay part of the fee for the year.
- 10 weeks offshore for a cross cultural experience.
The programme is coordinated by Len and Mary Savill
“Truth that has etched from head to heart this semester is God uses absolutely everything for His amazing purposesナ” Ness (Intern 2006)
“One of the main things that has challenged me during this time is getting out of my comfort zone. I wouldn’t normally do the types of things we're doingナ I’ve had to learn to let go and let God do it for me.” Liz (Gapper 2006)
“We have seen how Christians in other cultures live out their faith daily and it has really convicted us about how we live out ours.” Tina (Gapper 2006)
The fee for the 2008 year is $6,500. It covers food and accommodation, teaching, and the mission experience trip during the year. Gappers need to cover their personal expenses, and external travel costs in addition to this. The payment of fees is broken into a $1,500 deposit followed by installments during the work experience time until the gapper has paid their full $6,500.
We appreciate the work of HEADSPACE in developing a programme that fosters Biblical understanding and spiritual development and hope that many more young lives will be blessed because of the efforts you are making on their behalf. Down the track, we are also sure that the body of Christ will be stronger.” Elders (Ingestre St Bible Chapel)
“We are incredibly grateful for the work of Emma and her team last year. We see the change it has made to our son — a life changing experience and we are so thankful.” Geoff & Robyn Cotton
“HEADSPACE has helped me to gain insight into what’s involved in mission work, and has allowed me to see how God is working in many ways around the world. I have been fortunate to have learnt how to rely more on God which I will always be able to do for the rest of my life.” Ruth Ireland (Gapper 2006)
