Please pray for James, Social Services Coordinator for Christian Brethren Churches of PNG, who had a fall on a village track last week and broke his wrist. His wrist will be in plaster for 6 weeks which will hamper his work. Rebecca, Kalene Hospital in Zambia, asks for prayer for grace and wisdom for the way in which she approaches issues in regards to ongoing frustrations with her staff. Please also pray for a new home group with the younger staff of the hospital starting in her house on Friday nights. Fred and June, originally commended in 1987 to work in Fiji, leave on the 31st July for five weeks of visitation and ministry. Their visit will begin at Ba and end in the Suva area. They are both now in their eighties and value the prayer support of those who have known them over the years. Howard and Monica, Mongolia, write: We founded with others, the NOOR eye clinic in Kabul in 1966. Since then we moved on to other parts of Central Asia, now we have come back full circle. Our old clinic is now running the Kabul University eye clinic, where there has been a bitter conflict resulting in the foreign group being locked out of the clinic. They have approached us to work together again, and I have suggested a joint venture. Please pray that this conflict would be overcome, and that we could move forward together to be effective in the care of our patients. We rejoice today with Richard and Nancye as they celebrate 20 years in Los Angeles. Colleen, India, writes: Praise God that our Bridge Gospel Church is going very well. We have now been registered as a Church with the Government. Every Sunday there is an increase in numbers. It is a such a joy to sit around the Lord’s table with HIV affected people, lepers, poor people, middle class and well educated people, including all our children and adults. Please pray for this church. We request you to pray for the financial needs of the ministry and for God’s provision for each days needs. The tsunami ministry is continuing and we owe a lot of money to the builder. We are grateful to many people who are trying to raise funds for this project. The cost of everything is going up so much and so we quickly long to see this project finished. Jason and Shirley, Philippines, write: Please pray for us as we travel back to the Philippines. On arrival we are to take another seminar, then we plan to head back to the village to settle back into the translation of the Old Testament. |
