Weekly Prayer Requests - 16/04/2009
Sandy, DRC, praises God for the safe landing last Friday when the plane came to collect her. Long grass on the side of the airstrip caused the plane to veer dangerously into the grass at the edge of the tarmac. The pilot did well to keep control but was very shaken and no damage done to the plane. They had a safe flight. Praise the Lord.
Graeme and Dave, Philippines, are both currently teaching at a two week Christian Training Camp attended by about 150, mostly young people from assemblies from nearby provinces. Please pray for the various Christian Training and other camps being held over the next few weeks in various parts of the Philippines. Howard & Monika, Mongolia, would like prayer as they are facing an uphill struggle!
They fly out of Wellington on Monday 20 April.
Vivienne, Fiji, asks for prayer for Fiji. The outlook is not good. You would have heard the news. The Army has taken over the Fijian Bank. Please pray for the Trustees of the Harland Deaf Ministry Trust as they meet. Pray they will seek the Lord’s will and make wise decisions. They are hopeful that the Trust will finally be fully launched. Vivienne thanks you for your prayers.
Chris & Lee, Japan, praise the Lord that Lee is 7 weeks pregnant with their second child. The bad news is she has had really bad morning sickness (nausea and vomiting) that lasts all day and heartburn. She hasn't felt even OK for 2 weeks now. Your prayers would be appreciated for God's peace in her heart, for relief from the worst of the symptoms, and for the strength to take one day at a time.
Steve & Monique, USA, would like prayer for Josh (7 years old). Please pray for a return of Josh’s hearing. Winter colds have gone but not his hearing loss, initially attributed to being sick. Please pray for Dave & Lois, as they return to Niger to do the Lord’s work. Their two main prayer requests would be for language learning and acclimatising to the very hot, harsh conditions of summer.
