Peter and Annette, Thailand, are enjoying a lengthy visit from their son and daughter-in-law with their two grandchildren. Chris and Lee serve in mission in Osaka, Japan. Their niece is with them too for 6 months volunteering at a Christian school in Chiang Mai. So it's a full house. Please pray for a good balance between family time and the pastoring ministry as our senior pastor is currently on leave. Neil and Philomena, Thailand, give praise for a good start to the school year for Neil. He has a number of return students from last year. Please pray as he continues to build relationships with them and their families. Pray too for Philomena as she visits New Zealand and Australia; for quality times despite the relative shortness of the visit.
Jude, Kenya, writes; On Wednesday the 4th August the majority of Kenyans who voted, voted 'Yes' for a new constitution. Praise God that the referendum took place peacefully. People were quite apprehensive in the weeks leading up to the referendum, because of the violence which took after the 2007 elections.
Continue to pray for the Headspace team in Thailand. There are many positive reports coming from the team and the ministries they are involved in. Particularly pray for the team leaders Michael and Lois Good and Emma and Mark Stokes.
Andrew and Nadia, Australia, write; Please pray that we will be able to find suitable accommodation in Cairns and Andrew will start to become more familiar with his new role. Praise God that Olivia (5 years) has started school and is enjoying it so far.
Campbell and Janine, Australia, write; Please pray that MAF staff in the Asia Pacific region will have opportunities to share the new MAF Learning Technologies ministry with those who will benefit. Pray also for the family - our car has finally "died" and we need a replacement that the six of us can fit in.
Irene, France, writes; We are working with a Christian refugee family from Armenia who are in the process of making an appeal to the French government against the deportation order they received. Last month Armenia was taken off the list of safe countries so there is a good chance this family will now be granted asylum in France. Please pray that they will get it. Pray too that they will see God’s power in their lives and that more French Christians will be stimulated to open their eyes and hearts to refugees.
Please pray for the GCiM Board who are meeting this coming weekend in Palmerston North. Please pray for a clear sense of direction for GCiM, especially in the area of key personnel for 2011 and beyond.
