Colleen, India. Please keep Colleen in your prayers as she has been in hospital in the United Kingdom with a sickness called Chickun guniya. This causes severe pain and swelling to the joints and limbs. Please pray that she will find strength in the Lord and that she would be able to continue the work undertaken for His glory. Sarah, India, writes; Prayer is needed for Sunthorshum (mentioned in previous Prayer Links) just now. She went into hospital last Thursday for chemo, but when they checked her blood count it was too low. So they said she would have to wait until Monday for her chemo. In the meantime she developed a fever and the chemo had to be postponed. She is feeling very low and sick. Please pray that she will find comfort in the Lord. Sandy, D R Congo, writes; Pray for the PARS programme which is funded by the government to help struggling dispensaries. They are contributing to Katoka for two years but they expect good book keeping and this is difficult especially when nurses just make up figures and statistics. Last week they turned up and told Mary that we owed $600US and needed to pay that. Wages for the hospital have not been covered by the patients income for many months so running the hospital is very expensive at the moment. Pray that we will be a good witness. Graeme and Rachel, Philippines, write; Graeme has had a bad cough and no voice for almost two weeks now. Please pray that the antibiotic he is now taking would fix things up. Pray also for an evangelistic booklet Graeme and Rachel have helped translate into Tagalog with some adjustments for the local situation. We pray that the initial print run of 15,000 copies will not last long and that many people will be saved through reading this booklet. It comes with an additional 7 pages of questions, so doubles as a correspondence course which will hopefully start people studying other books about the Bible. Chris and Lee, Japan, write; One or other of our family has had some kind of illness for the last month - lots of -itis's! If you could pray for our good health and good grace as we deal with each other with the added stress of sickness. Marcus and Beth, United Kingdom, write; We will be participants on an intensive 6-week leadership development course in Chiang Mai (Thailand) that begins this Sunday, and we would appreciate prayer as we go into this busy time.
The last 12 months have been very challenging, and we have been through a number of changes (geographically, ministry focus) that we did not foresee even at the turn of the year. So we reach this point fairly tired physically and emotionally, and needing to hold to the truth that our strength is in the Lord. Please pray for the GCiM Mission Summit “Sick of Safe” to be held in Hamilton this weekend. We are excited by the numbers attending and are praying that this event will significantly impact our churches in mission.
