Ossie & Jenny, STM/PNG
Ossie and Jenny would value your prayer support as they make a further trip to Papua New Guinea (leaving today). The two main purposes of this trip are to help the CBC National Office transition to new staff and to run training for area coordinators for Jenny’s “Money, Management and Administration” (MMA) distance education courses. Contact them on osjen@fountainclan.net if you would like more details.
Colleen, India (Day 8)
Pray for our HIV ministry amongst over 250 affected families. We have a monthly meeting for them and when I spoke this last Thursday, three gave their hearts to the Lord and many more wanted Bibles. It is really encouraging for us to see the changes taking place in many of their lives. Pray also for Aaron and Edward as they lead the HIV ministry and for many of the women who suffer isolation and are ostracized.
Peter & Mathilde, Asia (Day 6)
Please pray for Peter who is leaving for the USA this Saturday for meetings with his Community Bible Study International Regional colleagues from 30th January to 2nd February. He will then be involved in preliminary training for a couple going to help in China. Thank you for your prayers.
Warwick & Osvalda, Italy (Day 15)
At the beginning of the New Year we have quite a number of challenges before us, related to our own church, and for restoring fellowship at Fondi, after some upheavals in recent years. Continue to pray! We are doing quite a bit of pastoral care for those who have become discouraged for different reasons over the past months. That’s something to remember constantly before the throne of grace. We are aware of our limits. Be with us as we pass all to higher ground in prayer.
Richard & Yuko, Japan (Day 7)
Another good funeral completed yesterday with many unsaved relatives "reached". "Church" weddings are reaching many Japanese people too. Richard gratefully asks continued prayer for his 20 family members in Japan that they may witness strategically to our Lord Jesus. Their activities are too wide to list but we want fruit not just fig leaves. FIG stands for fruitless indolent grandstanders. In addition, a quartet of young men (the sons of workers who are close to us) took first prize in a huge contest to produce a theme song for the elite Hokkaido Soccer team. They were already working for God countrywide.
Sandy, DR Congo (Day 11)
Praise the Lord for the safe arrival of Jennelle Spichinger. Amazingly enough, we have had a mini dry season so there weren’t as many deep holes in the road filled with water and frogs. We knew that the Lord was with us keeping us safe. The picture will tell it all… It was a bit canny rocking on three wheels for a bit. Jennelle grew up in Zambia and went to school at Sakeji. She is already understanding a lot of Chokwe as Luvwale from Chavuma is similar. Pray that she will continue to grasp the language, understand and be able to communicate with the people.
Stephen & Monique, USA (Day 20)
Please pray for a new initiative with ministry partner ICDI to put in water wells and a shortwave radio station in the remote north west corner of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The land is purchased, the station designed and ready to build, but the main prayer request is for the national government to grant the license.
Hazel, El Salvador (Day 21)
Please pray for our young people who have started back at school this week. I was invited to three graduations at the end of last year and was horrified to be faced with the reality that most of their class mates, in the upper classes in primary school and in high school, are connected with gangs. I was also very thankful to those of you who have prayed for them. Pray on that they will stand strong in their Christian faith. Pray too for those who are not yet Christians but have heard God's word in our Bible classes.
Stuart & Marion, Japan (Day 7)
The earthquake and tsunami on 11th March, 2011 left over 20,000 people either dead or missing. Christians have been very forward in helping with disaster relief. In conjunction with this, tonnes of Bibles and Christian literature have been made easily available. Please pray for the use of two excellent DVDs made free of charge or at a very small cost.
