James Loi

Social Services Coordinator, CBCPNG

James Loi is the Social Services Coordinator in the CBC National Office, Papua New Guinea.  In this role James works alongside those people involved in the health, education, and literacy sectors of the CBC network. This is a crucial role as there is an extensive network of schools and health facilities that CBC PNG is responsible for.

James left his role in the PNG Education Dept as an In-service trainer in March 2007, feeling called to serve God in this role. To continue in this important role James requires ongoing support.

There are enormous challenges ahead for the education and health sector. In many areas CBC is the main or sole church and community expectations are high that they will deliver these services. A recruitment drive is under way to make up for an acute shortage of teachers.

There are five CBC health facilities in Southern Highlands and six in Sandaun Province with a combined total of about 50 staff. In 2009 a new health center building was opened at Anguganak. Development at other health centers is planned.

One N.Z. Church has committed to partial funding of James’ position, but more is urgently required. Are you looking for genuine, effective partnerships in trans-cultural mission?  This is an opportunity for you or your church to partner with a key national leader.  Perhaps you could commit to Team Support of James in his ministry.

Total annual support requirement for James and his ministry: NZD21,500. This could represent 18 Team Support shares of $100 per month. (Office costs are raised within PNG)
