The following personnel partnership opportunities have been identified by the leaders of CBC and sent to us by the CBC General Secretary, Mr Kos Umion.

Health Ministries (Short Term)

CBC Health has a need visits by doctors / dentists / eye specialists and other health specialists on short term field visits. Such qualified health professionals are needed to visit some of our health facilities to provide services that are lacking. No doctors visit the bush facilities or stations. Only nursing officers or community health workers staff these facilities. Doctors or dentists or eye or ear specialists visiting on a periodic basis would cover for or a serious lack of the government health services to rural areas.

Such visits would not only meet a felt need but they would greatly encourage and motivate church health staff and, and build up the church health ministries profile.

Education

Trained Teachers or Technical Specialists for Vocational Schools. CBC has technical Vocational Centres at Anguganak and Yimbrasi (both in the Nuku District) and a new facility at Auwi (Southern Highlands. The target group of trainees who have successfully completed primary education but who have been unable to find a place in high school or have dropped out of High School. Skilled training for trainees would be in such fields as agriculture, carpentry, mechanics and hospitality. Short-term is possible but the preference is for overseas people to come for 1-2 years.

High School Teachers. The government have requested Green River Christian High School to be upgraded to Upper Secondary School. We will start Grade 11 enrolment in 2012 but lack qualified and experienced teachers. CBC needs upper level secondary school core subject teachers in English, Maths, Science and Computing. Our plan is that current teachers go back to universities to upgrade and take core subjects like English, Maths, Sciences, Computing. During the period we want this to happen, we would look to overseas teachers coming for 2-3 years to teach within the school to build a foundational education level for PNG teachers to continue from after they complete their university upgrades. This is an urgent need and other high schools in CBC areas could follow.

Guest House Operations Manager.

The CBC Property Trust Board have approved the plan to upgrade our Guest Houses to full guest house operations, starting with Coralita Guesthouse at Wewak. This will change it from a 7 bed guesthouse to a 26 - 30 bed guesthouse with office and kitchen, lounge, dining and provision of meals and other services. This is urgent to enable our CBC Guesthouses to grasp the financial opportunities to be realised from this. This will mean someone or a couple coming to provide training to guesthouse management and administration.

Property Business Manager. A Property Business Manager is needed to help rebuild the CBC Property Trust for a 1-3 yr term. The Board wish to revamp the Trust to a vibrant and viable property business operations and train a national to take it over.

Business Development. A person with experience in Business Development is needed to help people develop projects aimed at church income generation. The are opportunities in both micro-finance and establishment of trusts operating larger agricultural projects for income generation.

Visits for Training. Short-term visits are welcome for training in areas of Management, Computing, Governance Money Management, Building and trade expertise. CBC National Office is open to other alternative proposals.
